The Anthroposophy, Spiritual science
Anthroposophy as the present task of mankind In a science that strives for new knowledge, an essential element is not to set up boundaries of knowledge that one does not want to cross. The spiritual origin of man and the world, the work of the spiritual in all material things, which is presented here, demands of the striving man to direct his scientific activity exactly to the area of the soul and the spirit. Out of this won science of the spirit to also realize new spiritual impulses in the world in all areas of life and to seek the connection to spiritual beings. For this purpose, societies can be founded which want to serve exactly these goals. Anthroposophy is the most complete known presentation of this new revelation1 of the spiritual world, as it corresponds to the present state of development of mankind. The General Anthroposophical Society is an organism corresponding to anthroposophy. However, it can also be regarded as a community of human beings set up by the spiritual world itself. Its task would be to function as an embodiment body. To work on the science of the spiritual world, to carry spiritual impulses into all areas of life such as art, medicine, education, agriculture, business, technology, etc. and to seek a cultic, religious connection with the guiding gods of the spiritual world2 . Such a society has a great task, "For today, in that age when in the spread civilization the intellectualistic forces and elements have appeared particularly strongly, there is a lack of the understanding of the world of the whole person", (B155, 3.3.1923). Such a society is not to be seen as an association or an enterprise in which a hobby or a personal idea is realized. It is rather to be seen in the sense of mysteries. As a new revelation of the mysteries, a new current of mysteries which unites all the previous mysteries in a transformed form. Which therefore demands of its members, of those who want to be active, a transformation of consciousness and will. To live in the consciousness of being connected with the spiritual world, to want to realize the goals of the good spiritual world out of free will, even against all resistance, tolerance towards the being of others and the firmest will to realize the goals. For, "Not 'human wisdom' is the correct interpretation of the word anthroposophy, but 'consciousness of his humanity'; that is, the reversal of will, the experience of knowledge, the co-experience of the fate of the times, should aim to give the soul a direction of consciousness, a Sophia (note: connectedness of divine wisdom)", (B155, 13.2.1923). In other words, a community that seeks the spirit, wants to fathom the divine, wants to understand the spiritual behind everything material. "Anthroposophy... again wants to see through the souls and spiritualization of the entire universe, the connection of the human thought with the world thoughts, the connection of the human souls with the world souls, the connection of the human spirit with other world spirits, with the creative spirituality of the universe in general. Anthroposophy thus wants to bring about the possibility of recognizing spirit in the universe", (B155, 6.2.1923). As shown, this world does not only consist of good spirits and gods, not only Christian beings work in man, but also adversary beings who have the corresponding power over men. These beings and the people connected with them do not want to let this (spiritual-scientific) knowledge of the spiritual world come up, they try to prevent it wherever they can. Inside and outside of every human being. „... Opponents3 , who know quite well what it is all about, who simply have an interest that these truths about the spiritual world, which alone could really enhance human dignity, which in turn will bring peace to the earth, do not come to light, who want to eradicate these truths", (B155, 4.3.1923). Whoever has personally come to the conviction of the existence of a spiritual world, of true humanity as a spiritual being, of re-embodiment and karma and of the Christ impulse, and who wants to represent this conviction before the world, will therefore be subjected to the greatest inner and outer tests, by the adversaries. It is precisely a danger for societies and communities of this kind to fail because of the personal failure of the individual or because of interpersonal conflicts. In order to be able to represent Anthroposophy in the world, it is necessary to work on one's own soul mood, on one's own attitude towards fellow human beings and the world. Judgments and consciousness that are suitable for the physical-sensual world must be transformed in order to enter the spiritual world. "It is always important, when it comes to Anthroposophy, that a certain attitude of the soul is established, not merely the assertion of a different world view than that which one has in ordinary consciousness", (B155, 6.2.1923). It is demanded to the highest possible degree, self-knowledge and tolerance towards the other person. Today's human being has largely lost the knowledge, the consciousness of his humanity. The consciousness of prenatal being, of man as a spiritual being, the spiritual limbs of man, etc. Anthroposophy is a scientific, artistic and religious description of the human being as desired by the spiritual world, in a form that is understandable for today's man. Spiritual science shows man a personal, independent path to the spiritual world (e.g. in "How to gain knowledge of higher worlds", B023). But it also offers the possibility of raising one's consciousness to the spiritual world in joint anthroposophical work, and in the opposite cult such a consciousness can be achieved in joint work. With the founding of the School of Spiritual Science, a cult was introduced which can make the community of active members of this society, the common bond with spiritual beings, an action. A community working in the highest sense for the future of mankind is created in this way. In which every human being who finds himself in it can work on his independent connection with the spiritual world in a cosmic cult, in the common work, can participate in a reverse cult and in the university become part of a cult from above. In this way he can experience community-building to the highest degree, and in this way he can carry all esoterically experienced into the world, into the exoteric, and in the same way he can let the exoterically experienced be newly impulsified by the esoteric. But this is not easy for the people involved, but the most difficult thing of all. Since with the higher rising of consciousness also the egoism rises. The demand for tolerance towards the experience of the spiritual-emotional becomes ever greater. The fission of the argument is omnipresent in such a society. So everyone must also work on himself to achieve the greatest tolerance towards his fellow men. "If he is able to accept the opposing views of the other with the same tolerance ... wie seine eigene, dann erst erwirbt er sich die notwendige soziale Seelenverfassung für das Erleben desjenigen, was in der Theorie aus höheren Welten heraus verkündigt wird. ... like his own, only then does he acquire the necessary social soul condition for the experience of that which is in theory proclaimed from higher worlds. This moral basis is just necessary for a correct relationship of man to the higher worlds", (B155, 28.2.1923). Thus the Anthroposophical Society is also to be seen as a touchstone for human beings, to what extent they are mature enough to bear a coexistence in spiritual development. Anthroposophy and the Anthroposophical Society have the task of giving people back their knowledge of the spiritual world. To bring this knowledge into the public sphere can only happen in the greatest openness and publicity. "First of all, every person who hears about the Anthroposophical Society should be able to know that it has nothing to do with any kind of secrecy; that it is a public society, like other societies. ... that it must be aware that it must be there for every person in the world who seeks in his soul the paths to the spiritual, that in this respect it must be a completely public society, a society that is completely independent from the outside world", (B186). If several people work together in an organization, enterprise, community, association or the like, something like a higher community, a spirit of the human social organism, is created. Depending on the form and the harmony of an organism, a higher being can express itself in this community, can lower itself from the spiritual world into this physical being. At the Anthroposophical Society, the Christmas Conference of December 25, 1923, which constituted such an organism, laid a foundation stone in the hearts of the people. A form of organism, made up of branches, national societies, national representatives, university, sections and executive council, was created to enable the spiritual being Anthroposophia (B67, 25.12.1923, 10.00 a.m.) to become active in the physical world. As it is done today for many enterprises, organizations, peoples, cultural areas, a unified train in the sense of the being Anthroposophia of activity, goals, appearance, plans passes through the organism.
