A devil: Lucifer
A devil: Lucifer
Luciferian beings The Angeloi were during the old moon in their development on the level of today's mankind. They went through the development of the Ichen, some of them did not reach this goal at that time. If they stayed behind, they are now called Luciferian beings. A term that is also used for the beings of the other hierarchies. At what is called "quarrel in the sky" (see chapter "quarrel in the sky" and B076), angelic beings (powers / dynamis) fell away from the rightful development, they joined the fallen light bearer, the Lucifer. This occurred even before their ego development on the old moon, so it can be said of these fallen angels (Angeloi) that they could achieve a preliminary stage of freedom. They developed an independent life of their own (B136, 8.4.1912). On the Moon, what is called the astral body was connected with the development of the earth and mankind, and thus the human astral body1 and its reworked part, the sentient soul (B037, 22.3.1909) of man, is also the sphere of action of the Luciferian influence. "There were powerful beings during the old moon development, high spirits, but in a certain relationship, during this moon development they had not reached their developmental conclusion after all. Among these high spirits there was a group that was under a leader, as it were, and which, when the moon development was over, had not reached its developmental goal ... These are the flocks that are under Lucifer, and Lucifer himself works in the earth development with the continuous longing in his inner being for his true home, for the Venus Star", (B180, 21.8.1911). That these beings are part of the development of mankind is a matter for the gods. Only through the Luciferian spirits does man have the choice between different paths. Without the action of the Luciferian spirits, man could always only do what is due to him from the higher spiritual beings, he would have no freedom. So it is Lucifer who brings freedom to man, that is his justified place in the development of the earth. Today he also brings about love for the spiritual world in man. Where man strives for the spiritual, where he tears himself away from earthly creation, is active in art or philosophy, there the Luciferian is justified (B145, 25.8.1913). But when Lucifer leaves his realm, crosses this justified boundary - there his work becomes evil. The Luciferian beings cause desires and passions in our sentient soul to desire more than we are entitled to. No unpleasant fate and exhausting future, but simply a feeling of well-being, arbitrariness, enjoyment. To want to reach our goal faster than possible. These desires have connected humanity more closely with the earthly than was intended by the rightful spirits. They try to distract man from the earthly embodiment, from the intended connection with the earthly, from the work on the earthly, from compassion for fellow men. Lucifer wants to thwart the meaning of embodiment on earth by escaping into dream and illusory worlds. Not wanting to endure his life in peace and gratitude. To exalt oneself, to feel too good for this world, for this person, and thus to consider all others as worthless. To consider oneself so good and wise that nothing higher can be characteristics of ambition, arrogance, vanity, all characteristics that are "too good for this world, for this person, and thus consider all others as worthless. are connected with a kind of distension2 of our ego,..." (B055, 22.5.1910). Lucifer separates man from the immediate experience of the spiritual world; he separates the sphere of man's knowledge from his connection to morality. Thus he wants to transform man into moral automatons, dependent on external authority. He wants man to lean towards a misty, unconscious religiosity or materialistic science. In this way he wants to distract man from an ego-conscious free connection with the spirit. Lucifer wants to transform man into a being that strives too quickly for the spirit, wants to see the spirit as absolute revelation and thus becomes an automaton of the spirit (B128, p. 9.10.1918). Let man strive for undifferentiated freedom, for selfishness and fantasy. Short-sighted ideals can arise that have little or no relation to the real world. But there is a power from which Lucifer withdraws: It's morality, and it burns Lucifer like the most terrible fire. There where man receives impressions of the world, in the sentient soul, where he can develop a sense of injustice, there the confrontation with the Luciferian entity takes place. The Luciferian temptation of man began with the event, which is today called the Fall of Man, that was in the Lemurian Age, where the Luciferian spirits intervened in the development of mankind, settled in a part of our astral body (B037. Lecture 22.3.1909). Lucifer gives wisdom without love. The Incarnation of Lucifer About 2000 years before the event of Golgotha, there was some kind of Lucifer embodiment in the East. A child grew up there, who early came into the environment of the ceremonial priests of the mysteries. Only through their prophetic power could the mystery priests divine this incarnation of Lucifer. Around the fortieth year of life of this grown child, the carnal incarnation of Lucifer now entered (B064, 4.11.1919). And it was Lucifer himself who was now the first to grasp, through his power of judgement through the organs of his mind, what could only be given to mankind in the mysteries as revelations. And from him actually everything came forth that was pre-Christian pagan culture and that is effective in today's human development of art and culture.
