Christ impulse as the impulse to love
The Christ impulse as the impulse to love An act of love is only one that does not receive compensation, not even in a next life. Which we give completely freely. From an occult point of view, love is a substitute for goods already consumed, for the gift of our being. "The only actions we have nothing of in the future are those we do out of true, true love." (B115, 17.12.1912). Because we know this in the subconscious, we are so reluctant to do acts of love, therefore there is so little love in the world. We can admit to ourselves that we are still too immature for love to a large extent, because we want something in return for everything we do. We have little of our deeds of love, but the world has all the more of it. "Love is to the world what the sun is to outer life." (B115, 17.12.1912). Love is heightened interest. Where today we think we are at the summit of our own knowledge, our interest in what we do not yet know diminishes. On the way to love stands the milestone of interest in man and the world. The world is being and spirit, so it is up to us to develop interest in the spiritual in the world, in the science of the spirit. This is what the Christ wants for us and from us. He wants to bring us back into the spiritual world as ego beings. He wants to help us find our way back into the spiritual world with clear consciousness. In this way, Christian spiritual science will then become one in us with genuine Christian acts of love and acts of love. The sensual love develops the creative in the area of the senses, the spiritual love brings in what arises from the spiritual in development. The practice of love allows the creative and creative forces to flow into the world. "Love, the sensual love, is the origin for the creative, the emergent. Without sensual love there would be nothing sensual in the world; without spiritual love nothing spiritual arises in development. When we practise love, when we cultivate love, forces of origin, creative forces pour out into the world", (B115, 17.12.1912). If we practise acts of love in the world, we do not receive anything in return; on the one hand, we wear out what we have been given in love up to now. But the world becomes richer through our acts of love, because "Love is the creative thing in the world. (B115, 17.12.1912). It is what the Christ exemplifies to us, he is the divine impulse of love. Love that can lead us into the future as a spiritual being, that makes us go from being man to being God. This goes through love. "God is full of love, is pure love, is, so to speak, born of the substance of love" (B115, 17.12.1912). The basis of all being is love. With the Christ impulse, love itself has come into the world. Through Lucifer, humanity has been able to absorb intelligence and wisdom into itself. Wisdom alone, however, does not bring us further, it closes us off more and more from the world. If we add love to wisdom, we open ourselves to the world, to the spiritual world. Wisdom is transformed through the love of the Holy Spirit. In this way we will not be able to understand the Christian deed even with wisdom alone, only when love is added to wisdom. This will overcome being separated. The Christ statue is the passing of love through death. Only when we have overcome all adversaries, all selfishness, have gone through death. Not having lost love in the process. Then we too will bring love to wisdom (B115, 17.12.1912). The love connected with wisdom at the gate of death will then mean to us through "... In the Christ will live death", (B067, 25.12.1923, Supplement 5). A new awakening in the spiritual. The development of the human-being is the ideal of the gods. The progress of mankind desired by the good gods is also the justified progress of culture. This progress is impulsed by the highest guiding divine entities in human beings and human cultural groups. These future impulses come from the highest spiritual realms. What causes the actual cultural progress through new impulses is connected with the world beyond the Saturn sphere, that which causes the progress that can be characterized as that spiritual-spiritual current that has its centre of gravity in the mystery of Golgotha. The Christ-impulse was connected with the old sun, remained connected with the sun, has now descended to the earth sphere (into darkness), has connected with the earth sphere through death. "Therefore, apart from what it was before the mystery of Golgotha, the soul now has within itself that which is deeply rooted in the universe, that which, although it first descended from the sun to the earth, belongs in the spiritual realm to much deeper1 regions than those which we have before us in the planetary spheres", (B012, 1.4.1914) "... with that which has lived up to the earth with the development of the sun, with the Christ impulse. The earth was animated by the mystery of Golgotha; it was then that earthly culture received its "soul". What the "death at Golgotha" is, that is apparent death; in truth, it is the birth of the earth soul. And everything that can be brought from the spaces of the worlds, also from outside the sphere of Saturn, that takes on the sphere of the earth as the earthly body takes on the earthly soul", (B012, 1.4.1914). That is it also for man the higher he develops, the more important it is also that he uses all his abilities for his fellow men. Not flight from the world but connection with the world and fellow men, in order to help them with all their own powers and abilities in their higher development. To turn back from the highest spiritual development into the depths of material existence in order to make available to fellow men all the fruits and abilities that one has gained. ",... when the initiate has also used all the powers that have flowed to him from this world in the service of the liberation and redemption of this world", (B023, "The great guardian of the threshold"). Everyone will be asked once, what has the world done for you and what have you done for the world? Love for all that is. Acknowledgement of the earthly, the necessity of wealth, the power of creative freedom - the need to do what is considered important from moral intuition and technique. The recognition of the diversity of people. But what is important is the spirit, the human being in his ego development. Money, power, recognition are only tools of the earthly, which we put on when they are necessary, and take them off again when we no longer need them for our actions. The important thing is our fellow human being, his well-being, not ours. Talking to the I: once one has recognized the evil, the handicapped after a long way, one must not break out in rejection and anger, but rather seek to absorb it and transform it. It is like eating, digesting and transforming. To seek the good, the I, in the person who is recognized as an adversary, and to talk to this part of him, to invite him to Christian action. "The higher (good) takes even the evil into itself in the course of time and transforms it by its own power into a good", (B144, p. 180).
